About The Standard
A Higher Standard for How We Live
The Standard exists to help people turn intention into consistent action—and to make sure they do not have to do that work alone.
Our Origin
Built From a Simple Conviction.
The Standard began with a belief: people become stronger when personal responsibility and meaningful community meet. Motivation can start the work. Discipline sustains it.
This is not a story about perfection. It is about choosing the next right action, telling the truth about where you are, and surrounding yourself with people who care enough to expect more.
What began as a call to live with greater discipline has become a shared commitment: lead at home, keep your word, do the difficult work, and help the men beside you rise.
Mission
Make Growth a Shared Practice.
Our mission is to build a disciplined brotherhood where accountability is constructive, leadership is lived, and personal growth is measured by consistent action.
Long-Term Vision
Stronger People. Stronger Communities.
We envision a connected community of people who lead themselves well, serve others, build meaningful relationships, and raise the standard wherever they go.
Living the Standard
What It Means
Take responsibility. Keep your word. Do difficult things with purpose. Help the person beside you rise.
Living the standard is not a badge. It is a daily practice: honest reflection, deliberate action, physical and mental discipline, courage under pressure, and respect for every person in the room.
Founder
Oscar “OG” Gastelum
Oscar founded The Standard around a direct conviction: men become stronger when faith, leadership, discipline, and accountability are practiced together. His public manifesto calls men to lead at home first, serve with courage, and build a legacy through committed action.
His approach is direct: lead at home first, keep your word, train with purpose, and use your strength to help other men rise.
Our Manifesto
The Work Is Yours. The Path Is Shared.
We refuse to outsource responsibility. We train the body, sharpen the mind, and keep our commitments. We choose courage over comfort and substance over appearance.
We challenge without humiliating. We support without enabling. We listen, contribute, and lead by example. The Standard starts with you—and rises with us.
Responsibility
Own your choices and their impact.
Discipline
Build trust through consistent action.
Courage
Act with purpose when comfort pulls back.
Service
Use your strength to help others rise.
